BEING GREEN
Lets make a difference

Harbour Park takes responsibilities towards the environment seriously. We make every effort to do the following:

• Purchase & replace all bulbs with energy efficiency light bulbs.
• Use a Waste Management Contractor who use approved methods of waste disposal.
• Opening and Closing times are decided with energy efficiency in mind.
• Energy efficiency is a key factor when new rides and attractions are purchased.
• New buildings are all double glazed. Heating is thermostatically monitored.
• Taps have automatic turn off valves fitted. Toilet cisterns are all low flush.
• The contents of waste receptacles in the toilets are disposed of via PHS Group PLC.
• Contracts and supplies are locally sourced where possible
• Plastic containers and cardboard used is recycled.

Catering Departments
• Energy efficient dishwashers are used in the catering departments.

• Take away food and beverage containers are recyclable and/or bio-degradable.

• Cooking oil (vegetable oil only) is recycled via A&B Oil Ltd who have a Certificate of Registration Under the Control of Pollution (Amended) Act 1989.

• Local produce is used when viable.

Only vegetable oil is used for cooking at the Harbour Cafe & Galley Restaurant.

Vegetable oil is NOT hydrogenated in any way and is naturally low in cholesterol.

Workshop Areas
• Catch pits are used in case of accidental spillage of oil/diesel.
• Self contained degreasing unit which recycles degreasing fluids.

Administration
• Re use of paper and envelopes where possible.
• Use recycled paper for printing and print cartridges where possible.
• Recycle paper locally.
